Jesus said in Luke 13:3 "unless you repent, you will die". Therefore it is very important to repent of ones sins. This is a vital decision should be based on that fact that you realize and recognize what God did for you. God loves you so much that He gave His Son do die on the cross for you. Therefore, you have to commit yourself to Him and believe in his saving work on the cross. Jesus said in John 1:12 "To all who did accept him and believe in him, he gave the right to become children of God".
No matter how sinful your past, and how hopeless your future seems to be, there is only one safe way out and that is "Jesus Christ", the Son of God who said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). When you really repent, immediately, your sinful past will be wiped out and you will begin a new right start. You are forgiven, every sin you have committed no matter how terrible is gone.
You are adopted! You have become a child of the Living God. Paul writes in Galatians 3:26 "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus". You have become member of God's family.
You are justified! The moment you're born again, you are justified in the sight of God, which means "just as if I'd never sinned" because God sees you through the blood of His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, which washed away your sins. Christ comes to live in your heart through the Holy Spirit. Paul writes in Colossians 1:27 "God decided to let his people know this rich and glorious secret which he has for all people. This secret is Christ himself who is in you."
When the Spirit of God lives in you, you start to experience certain changes and you will have a different attitude toward sin. You will learn to hate sinyou will want to live a sinless life. You will want to live for God and obey him. In 1 John 2:3, it says "We can be sure that we know God if we obey his commands". The Bible will become your daily companion and the Word of God will change you. You will now change your attitude towards the love of the world and be separated from the things you once followed. 1 John 2:15 "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If you love the world, the love of the Father is not in you."
You will also start having a new love for other people. In John 3:14, 15 we read "We know we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death." God is love and as his children we must also "be love" to those around us. You must be willing to help them and pray for them and not ignore them and hate them. So help us God! Amen.
Scripture to read: "God so loved the word that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
Jesus said in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid."
Prayers: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your kindness and your forgiveness of all our sins. Thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who made it possible for us to become your children. I pray that you help me live the life you intend me to live. Teach me how to love my neighbor as myself and to love my enemies. Lord, I totally commit my life to you and declare that you are the first and the last in my life. I love you Lord more than anything and anyone in this world, even more than myself.
In Jesus' name I commit myself and my life to you in full. Thank you Lord. Amen.
