Part two:       Thy kingdom come,

As we have seen previously, the communication with God begins with worship, an acknowledgement of the truth about our Father, a hallowing of His name, and now we come to the next part, which is our commitment to God's sovereignty. It is important to confirm God's sovereign Rule of the entire universe, and especially over our life.

Many people worship God with their lips yet their hearts are far away. They are not sincere in their hearts to the Sovereign God, the Creator of everything, but rather are more concerned with worldly wealth. They worship "Other gods", idols such as money, position, prestige and things and pleasures of this world rather than the real and sovereign God. They love the world more than they love God. They forget that, like Paul says "our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20). They are so attached to the wealth of this world that they forget God.  It is sad to see that they know so much about the world, yet so little about God. They find time for everything in this life except for reading the "Word of God".  They ignore the fact that "man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord" (Deuteronomy 8:3). They may go to church but their hearts are far from God, they practice "Churchianity" rather than "Christianity".  They go to services and worship God with their lips and practice church, but forget that Christ is the head of the church.

I am not saying that we should not live a good life, on the contrary, Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10), but "seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well". (Matthew 6:33) If we seek first the kingdom of God "thy kingdom come", then the fullness of life that Jesus promised will be available to you. It is not like the fullness of this world, but the fullness of God is"Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control." (Galatians 5:22-23)

"Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself?"  (Matthew 6:34)

Please folk, when you repeat the Lord's Prayer be faithful in your commitment "Thy kingdom come". God's kingdom must have the preeminence "so that He Himself might come to have first place in everything" (Colossians 1:18) I beseech you to examine yourself and see what is holding you back from putting God first in your life. If you love the world more than God, ask Him for forgiveness and ask Him to help you in this specific area of your life. God is a forgiving God and He will answer your prayers, all you have to do is to have a faithful and submissive heart.

Scripture to Read: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-29)

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you would help me set my life in right order. I want to always put You first in my life. Teach me how to love You with all my heart, mind and soul.  Help me not to have any other gods but You in my life. Please show me if I have lifted up my soul to an idol. My desire is to serve You and only You. Help me live accordingly. Amen.

If we sincerely humble ourselves before the Lord, repent, pray and seek God’s face, if we consistently meditate on His Word, we will experience His presence. Our confidence and faith in Him will be strengthened. We will feel mentally, spiritually, and physically refreshed, we will see answers to our prayers.

Amen.

I would like to suggest a topic which I think is important to know and I would love to learn more about it: FASTING!

Thank you so much Auntie,
Love, Reem Batarseh.

I was about to suggest the same thing, Reem! I would love to know more about fasting: its concept, its implementation and its effects in our lives.

Hi Reem, Hi Sireen, thanks for your comments and your suggestions to write about Fasting. I will write about fasting once the Lord's Prayer is finished. I guess I need 5 more "Daily Words" on the Lord's Prayer. I will then write about fasting.
Love you
Thanks Suzy
