Our spiritual weapons can be listed as follows:
I. The Name of Jesus:
Jesus has given us the right to use His Name. We have to realize the power of that precious name, the name above all names. Paul wrote in Philippians 2:10-12 "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father".
Jesus said in Mark 16:17 "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In MY NAME they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all, they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Everything can be achieved through the power of this name!
§ We can heal the sick and get healing in the name of Jesus: Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."
§ We can have protection through the name of Jesus: Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe". The name is a strong tower; the devil cannot penetrate past the Name of Jesus. We can plead protection in the name of Jesus.
§ When we feel a spiritual attack in our lives, we are to use the Name of Jesus. The devil hates that name because he knows when we use this powerful name, he is powerless and it is through this name that he has been defeated and openly disarmed. As mentioned in Colossians 2:15 "Jesus had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him".
§ We can drive demons out in the name of Jesus: There is so much power in that name that demons tremble and when ordered to leave in the name of Jesus, they will leave the body of the oppressed person. We can bind the demons and set free those enslaved by them. I have personally seen devils screaming and coming out of the body of people by the mention of this powerful name of Jesus. In Luke 10:17 the disciples "returned with joy and said, Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name"…
In the book of Acts 4:12, Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit declares, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
In conclusion, Paul gives one great advise in Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him". So the Name of Jesus should be on our lips all the times. Amen.
Scriptures to read: Mark 3:27 "no one can enter a strong man's house (i.e. Satan) and carry off his possession unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house (i.e. setting free those who are enslaved to Satan).
Prayer:
"Lord, thank you for your wonderful gift, the gift of using your wonderful Name. Thank you for giving us the authority to be set free and set others free. Lord, teach me to stand against the wiles of the devil and to stop the enemy’s fiery darts with your powerful Name, the name which is above all names, the name of Jesus. Amen.
