Every human being will have to face eternity. Most religion agrees that there is an eternal dwelling. According to the Word of God, Heaven and hell are the only two places of abode in eternity. The Bible says the righteous will either enter into 'life eternal" and the unrighteous "shall go away into everlasting punishment" (Matthew 25:46). In other places in the Bible we read "the wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17) Most of us agree that the wicked are the mean persons and they will go to hell. But the Bible also categorizes "all the nations that forget God" will go to hell. So virtually, those nations who forgot, neglected and left God out of their lives will also go to hell, regardless of their deeds whether good or bad. You don't have to be wicked to go to hell, but the fact of negligence of God will put you in hell.
If you go back to my "Daily Word", Serial No. 10 of 30/8/2006, and read the definition of "righteousness" you will understand the term "righteousness". Our righteousness does not depend on being good or bad, because there is "none righteous". Our righteousness depends on whether or not we have accepted the wonderful gift of God for salvation. When we accept the reconciliation and the work of Christ on the cross and accept Him as "our personal Lord and Savior", then we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God 's Son, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13). It goes without saying that we have to live the word of God and not just hear it. James 1:22 says "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
God does not want anyone to spend eternity in hell. For this very reason, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to die on the Cross. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish". Jesus paid the price with His own blood so that we could be reconciled to God. Jesus was raised to life again for our redemption. You don’t' have to go to hell because Jesus died in your place to redeem you! Please know that it is the will of God "that all men (regardless of color, nation or tongue) be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (I Timothy 2:4)
Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:13
Conclusion: Therefore, it is very important that you repent and turn to God and accept Jesus' redeeming work for you. Jesus died instead of you! What better message could there be? If you repent of your ways and believe in your heart on the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are saved. It is only then that you will experience a change in your life. You will never be the same again, you will be transformed into the image of the Son of God and receive a new nature in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer: Dear Precious Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I know that I deserve eternal punishment, but your love is greater than my understanding. You died for me so that I may live. I don't have to go to hell, because you paid the price for my eternal salvation. Thank you Lord. I accept you as my Lord and Savior and ask you to come into my heart and change me. I want to live the new life that you made possible for me to live. Lord Jesus, I depend on you to change me, because I admit I am a failure and without you I am lost. Thank you lord that you have answered my prayers. Amen.
